- Remember the good ol’ days when you would do your shopping research online before going to the store? According to eMarketer, these days, consumers are doing that research on their smartphones in-store. Content they are looking at includes price comparisons, customer reviews, and detailed product descriptions. These real-time searches make SEO and SAIO all the more important as part of the digital marketing mix.
- Search Engine Land has a good read on the importance of generating brand presence, authority, and trust to help AI models learn and value their relevant content as part of the SEO EEAT model. The author suggests to achieve SEO success in this new AI-driven era you need to think “publicity first, links second” with the assumption that the links will follow the publicity. Our approach with SAIO is to teach the AI models to deliver both brand citations and links. As we noted in our recent blog post, SAIO citations and links will help with SEO, too.
- Here’s an interesting, longer read about 9 Google patents that may influence your SEO. We’re seeing an increase in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and contextual understanding. This means Google will be getting better at reading and comprehending the “why” behind a search query/web page. This is all a shift to a more AI-chatbot-esque approach to search. *cough cough* More reasons why SAIO’s important *cough cough* 😏

- The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is the only company in the world that can reliably make the world’s most advanced AI chips. In AI expert Rob Toews’ Ted Talk, he discusses the major problems with this fact including: 1. rising political tensions between Taiwan and China and 2. no other company (including Samsung and Intel) can reliably make these chips at scale. TSMC chips are pivotal for tech giants like Google to progress in AI development. The talk gives perspective on how global politics can enhance or impede our advancement of technology.
Our thoughts: this is a situation to watch, but technology–or the people behind it–seem to find a way to move forward and we bet AI chips are no different. But, as John Lennon said, “Imagine….”
