Here in NJ we can see the leaves starting to change colors ever so slightly. According to this interactive map, we’re several weeks away from all out autumn. Let’s hope we get lots of color this year.
Now, onto the digital marketing stories that attracted our attention this week that we want to share:
- Last year, Google reduced visibility into search term data by eliminating lower volume search terms from reporting. This update came with criticism and frustration from advertisers who rely on search term data to make optimization decisions and find new areas of opportunity for expansion. Now a year later, Google is backtracking and announced they will be including an average of 6.5x more search term data in their reports.
- Moz shares “The Three Bosses of SEO” and we like it so much we had to share. Example from the article: think “topics,” not “keywords.”
Do Good Spotlight on: No Kid Hungry
No Kid Hungry is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. At DBE, we want to help every child get the resources they need to have a successful life, and nutrition is a key pillar to that path. This week’s shout out and donation go to No Kid Hungry. Here’s where you can learn more.
- A Nerf war in mansion-like vacation rentals? Doesn’t that sound like fun? Hasbro and Vrbo partnered to create an interesting and fun cross-promotion. Check it out here.
- Interesting new thing Twitter is testing… they are labeling which accounts have bots helping their growth. There’s a lot to this story, so take a few minutes to read the details here.
Okay, that’s a wrap for this week. As always, please share not-for-profits that you think deserve a shout out (and donation) and if there are digital marketing stories you think we should share, let us know that too. Have a great rest of the week and make the most of the weekend, too.
